We have recently started a project of conducting a series of training classes preparing anyone interested for the FCC Technicians class License Exam.
The classes run for four weeks on Saturday mornings at 9:00am until approximately 12:00noon at the New York Hall of Science.
Students learn about FCC rules and regulations, elementary Physics, modes of radio transmission, emergency transmissions, repeaters, technician’s class frequencies and bandwidth and license privileges. After the class the students get an opportunity to visit the Ham Station and make some radio transmissions, with the sophisticated equipment in the HOSARC ham shack under the supervision of a licensed Amateur Radio operator.
The classes are absolutely FREE, we recommend buying a book for $20.00 and the exam fee is $14.00
The next scheduled class will start Nov 3rd, 2007.
Our next VE exam session is scheduled for Dec 1st, 2007.
Please contact Robert Smith - AB2UV at [rob at ab2uv dot com] for more information or to register for a class.
